The Hump! Interview With Danielle Lehman

In their discussion with Danielle Lehman, the fellas:

    • Ask Danielle about the origins of the Open Belly podcast. Why did she want to explore ethnically diverse food and restaurants in Kansas City?
    • Clarify how the show is structured? How did Open Belly become a show more than about food, but a story about the families who run these Kansas City restaurants.
    • Gush over the Open Belly restaurant guide that is circulating about town. It’s a menu of sorts, highlighting each of the restaurants in season 1 and recommending a starter dish.
    • Ask how Feast magazine’s Jenny Vergara got involved in the project. They also explore what a podcast can do that a magazine can’t and why that is such a benefit.
    • Give a shout out to Danielle’s co-conspirators and contributors. She’s got a few other bandmates and the fellas ask how they helped out.
    • Chat about … how hard is podcasting? And for our guest … What was the biggest challenge in getting podcast started?
  • Discuss what restaurant’s story really surprised Danielle as she started to dig deeper into it?
  • Ask true/false question to bust (hopefully) the pre-conceived notion of a friend: T or F: Waldo Thai only Thai food in Kansas City?
  • Pester Danielle about a few of the most interesting dishes from Open Belly’s first season? (This makes them want to create some sort of Spotify app for food. It has to exist already. Tell us.)

And This Episode’s Game of “Triple D” …

To close out The Hump! Podcast … Brent and Chad play a quick round of Triple D.

What’s Triple D?

They throw out a scenario … and discuss whether it’s a DICK, DOUCHE or DUMBASS move …

This week’s Triple D move — What do you call someone who asks to split up the bill based on how much you ate out of shared dishes?

But the real question according to Danielle … What value do you assign the leftovers?

We discuss and debate on the show, but feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments (keep it clean folks, as they reserve the right to delete any personal attacks or defamatory information).

You Can Catch The Hump! Live

You can watch Brent and Chad LIVE 7 p.m. CST most Wednesdays on Facebook  (and sometimes Instagram — when it works).

They’ll publish the replays on Facebook and places where good audio can be found (see below platforms — and not saying they’re good, but they’ll slum along greatness).
